Daily Dog Walks

Our Daily Dog Walks incorporate the Art of the Walk into every walk, providing optimal fun, exercise and psychological challenge.  Every walks builds on your dog's newfound skills and balance.  Rest and play periods are incorporated into every walk, which can focus on exercise, skill building or behavioral issues.  You can also think of Daily Walks as periodic tuneups when you have to be away or would like our help with specific behavioral problems.

No matter what your dog's age or level of physical ability, these Dog Walks are designed to meet every dog's needs for exercise and mental challenge - at the price of most dog walks!

RATES

• $25 per session 

• $10 for 2nd dog  

Art of the walk Training Sessions

Art of the Walk training sessions take place throughout the day and some evenings.  These individual sessions with you and your dog will teach you the Art of the Walk, handling skills and address issues such as dog aggression, uncontrollable prey drive and even aggression toward other dogs.

 Maggie, age 7 was uncontrollable for six years.  She'd lunge out the door and was dog aggressive.  She is pictured here in her 4th session.  She now listens to "No" when other dogs approach and sits quietly as they pass.

In training sessions dogs learn to focus on their handler, self-correct themselves to maintain their balance and sit when the handler stops.  Eash session is conducted quietly with minimal talking. This allows the dog to learn how to "read" his handler. 

How Many Sessions Do I Need?

There is no "average" dog, however most dogs learn the Art of the Walk quickly and may only require a few sessions of instruction.  Other dogs with issues such as dog aggression or a strong prey drive may require more. Likewise, there are owners with minimal time to devote to the initial stages of this training.  In either case, we work with every owner to meet your goals and to give you the skills and tools you need to continue on your own.

Art of the Walk for Puppies

Start your puppy early.  He will learn quickly, retain what he learns and never develop unwanted behaviors. 

For Younger Puppies - Puppy Walks

We know it's hard to give them the attention they need when you have to be away.  No worries!  Each Puppy Visit is customized to meet your little one's needs for play, contact and affection - while continuing his education.  As soon as your youngster is old enough to learn how to walk on a lead, you'll be thrilled at his newfound abilities.

Overnight Pet Sitting

Hillary's Hounds also offers professional Pet Sitting, so if you are looking for someone to care for your pets and home we've got you covered.  Whether it’s an overnight stay or a daily dog walk, we spend quality time with your pets and keep an eye out to ensure the safety of your home.  Additional services we offer include bringing in mail and newspapers, watering plants, turning lights on and off, and providing your home with a lived-in look to deter crime.  Why use a Pet Sitter?  Click here to learn more.

We'll stay in your home from approximately 8pm to 8am the next morning, providing lots of play time and morning and evening walks.  In addition, every Pet Sitter at Hillary's Hounds has been trained in the Art of the Walk, making you dog's outings consistent and building his repertoire.  

RATES

• $65 per night for 1 dog or 1 to 2 cats

• $10 per night for extra dog

• $  5 per night for extra cat

Daily Visits:  

Time for that Midday Visit?

No worrying about what your loved ones are into while you're gone.  We'll arrive midday with plenty of love, fresh food and water, and walks for dogs.  We'll also bring in your mail and newspapers, clean the litter box, and water a small number of plants if needed.

Dog Baths

You asked and we (of course) listened.  After several requests from our clients for help with Dog Baths we have decided to offer this convenient service in most Marin communities.  So here it is - please try to schedule at least 2 days in advance.  Please call for availability.

         Dog Baths: $60 per dog (includes pickup and drop-off)

Other Services:

Pet Taxi...........................$25 per 1/2 hour

House Checks..................$18 (no pets)

Extended care..................$32 per hour

Emergency key lockout.....$20 per visit

Introductory Visits - No Charge.  We come to your home and meet you and your pets.  This helps us all get acquainted, answer any questions you might have and learn all about your pets' needs.
